Team work
Past experience has shown that children who learn to play chess exhibit higher academic achievement, enhanced self-esteem, confidence in their intellectual abilities, and exceptional improvement in mathematics, reading, spatial awareness, visualization, focus, social skills… and so much more.
Chess gives you skills that last a lifetime!
Chess4SuccessLA offers two types of chess programs for your school:
Critical Thinking Class
Chess is taught during the regular school day as part of the math class curriculum. I’ve been teaching this class for the past 15 years at St. Paul the Apostle school in Westwood to kindergarten and first grade students. The kids and their teachers love it!
After-School Weekly Chess Classes
These classes are one hour long and take place once a week.
