Chess4SuccessLA Programs Have Been Taught by Ivona Jezierska in Los Angeles’ Area Schools Since 2000
Having played chess from a young age herself, Ivona is dedicated to introduce and teach chess to children ages 4-16.
To teach children the joy of focus and the passion for strategy.
To support parents in preparing their children to work creatively and to develop self-motivation, self-confidence, and perseverance.
The lessons are tailored for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students.

Chess4SuccessLA offers two types of chess programs at your school:
Critical Thinking Class
Chess is taught during the regular school day as part of the math class curriculum. I’ve been teaching this class for the past 15 years at St. Paul the Apostle school in Westwood to kindergarten and first grade students. The kids and their teachers love it!
After-School Weekly Chess Classes
These classes are one hour long and take place once a week.
